消失模铸造件是指通过易熔原材料做成可熔性实体模型，在其上涂敷若干层特制耐火涂料，通过干躁和硬底化形成一个总体型壳后，再换蒸气或温水从型壳中熔掉实体模型，并把型壳放置沙盒中，则在四周充填干砂造型设计，然后将金属型铸放进煅烧炉中通过高温焙烧，金属型铸或型壳经培烧后，于在其中浇筑熔融金属而获得铸件。
精密铸造所获得的产品高精密、繁杂，接近零件最终样子，可以不生产加工或非常少生产加工就直接用，是一种近产生形先进工艺，是高精密消失模铸造行业里一项出色的生产工艺，其运用十分广泛。它不但主要适用于种类、各种各样铝合金的铸造，并且生产制造出铸件加工精度、表层质量比其它铸造方式高些，乃至别的铸造方式难以铸得的繁杂、耐热、不便于加工制作铸件，都可选用精密铸造铸得。
