精密铸造就是指得到具备准确的尺寸硅溶胶精密铸造配件的一个过程总称。精密铸造又称为失蜡铸造。这些产品高精密繁杂，贴近零件的最后样子，不用生产加工或小量生产加工就可以直接用。这是一种先进的近净成型加工工艺。该技术包含：选择适合的熔模原材料(如石腊)制做熔模；反复预浸耐火涂料(主要成份为硅溶胶)与在熔模上喷漆防火砂、硬底化机壳和干躁的流程；熔融内熔模，获得模芯；烤制壳体以获得充足的强度并烧毁残余的熔模原材料；浇筑所需要的金属复合材料；凝结制冷、蜕壳、清砂，获得高精密制成品。
硅溶胶用以精密铸造工艺。因其较好的粘合能力及添充特性，制作而成的壳体强度高、光滑度高、易出模，在这一领域获得广泛运用。依据实际应用标准的不一样，分成表层硅溶胶和反面硅溶胶，耗费极大。
