正火的作用是增加铸件的强度和硬度。但由于正火的冷却速度快，对复杂铸件（特别是含碳量高时）易产生内应力，故不宜采用。通常只有ZG15、ZG25采用正火处理，因这种钢塑性好，快冷也不致开裂。对ZG35钢可视铸件的复杂程度而决定；对ZG45和ZG55钢，通常只采用退火处理。
淬火：是把铸件加热到A3线以上的温度，经保温后在水中、油中或其他液体介质中迅速冷却。硅溶胶精密铸造厂家淬火后铸钢的组织由奥氏体转变为马氏体，硬度增高，脆性增大。为了降低淬火后的硬度和脆性，以及消除铸件的内应力，淬火后应进行回火。
回火：硅溶胶精密铸造企业将铸件加热到珠光体转变为奥氏体的温度（A，线以上），经保温后冷却的过程叫回火。回火是在空气中冷却，回火应在正火或淬火之后进行。
回火的目的是：降低硬度，稳定淬火的再结晶组织，降低脆性，提高力学性能，消除内应力。
