氧-乙炔焰切割法是当前生产中普遍应用的方法。该法常用于碳钢及低合金钢铸件的浇口切割，但不适用于蜡型精密铸造件。此外，气割法因氧-乙炔产生的高温使内浇口附近的金相组织改变，且切割端面也不平整，增加了打磨浇口余根的工作量。
全硅溶胶精密铸造件经震动脱壳后，表面上残留的型壳及氧化皮往往不能全部被清理干净。尤其对具有复杂内腔、深槽、盲孔的铸件其表面清理通常用滚筒清理、抛砂清理及化学清理等方法。
通常使用喷砂处理，风压0.1~0.5MPa，砂粒40~70目（对有色金属还应小些），喷砂不降低铸件表面光洁度，但粉尘太大。为解决粉尘问题，还有使用Q3110及清理台的。这些设备效率高，但影响铸件表面粗糙度，故多用于要求不很严格的熔模铸件上。
