精密铸造加工铸钢件加工精度高，一般线形公差为1%，视角公差为：±1/2度，表面光滑度可达Ra1.6—3.2，可节约材料及机械加工花费。可制造样子繁杂的零件，或将好几个零件筑成一体，省掉组成或焊接工作。能够在商品表面铸出精致文本或LOGO图案设计，提升产品形象。铸造材料性能普遍，耐高温、耐磨损、抗腐蚀、材料硬度可达HRC15—60，以适应各种各样工作状况要求。铸件生产批.量灵便，从小量到批量生产都可，高效率、可重复性好;模具费用低，产品研发前期投入少。
大中型铸钢件多数为重大技术装备中的重要承重件和支撑件，大型精密铸造企业的铸件规格极大，样子繁杂，横截面薄厚差距口这种铸件常处在持续高温、高压工作情况，并对性能及质量标准比较严格，尤其是对持续高温性能规定更加严格。
铸钢件都应在热处理工艺后再用。由于铸态中的铸钢件内部结构存有出气孔、裂痕、缩松和铸造缺陷、晶粒粗大、机构不均匀及残留热应力等焊接缺陷，使铸钢件强度、特别是可塑性和延展性大幅度降低。
