根据生产者要求不一样，熔模精铸生产方式基本上分成两类。
一种是一般加工工艺，基本上就是采用手工制作及手动式装置和简易机械化，生产低成本。第二种是现阶段大部分技术专业化工企业采用的生产方式，则在生产车间内部结构配有悬链输送器及机械化制壳生产流水线。这类生产布置特点是：全硅溶胶精密铸造加工工艺以及配套机械化合适生产迅速调节，不会受到增设的锅炉辅机互相制约，可充足高效地利用时间，尽管成本费要高一些，但是其生产率大。
现阶段，采用熔模精铸得到规格准确、表面光洁、抗压强度适中的零件及总体件，无需（或少使用）生产加工及其因为成份等关系不可以生产加工或无法加工制作零件，是熔模精铸生产生产工艺持续发展的集中趋势。
除此之外，从融入零件样子、尺寸、加工精度及原材料品种丰富性来讲，在各类精密铸件方式（铝压铸、瓷器型、熔模）中，熔模精铸是很颇具协调能力的特种精密铸造工艺方式。由于除基本铝合金可以用此方法生产外，全部高强度合金基本上均可以用此方法生产。
