完成少、无余量零件的生产制造是全球各国共通的努力目标，尤其是对这些原料欠缺、劳动力昂贵我国也是十分注意问题。若使用一般加工工艺方式（如普铸、煅造→机加工），由原料变为零件（商品），要耗费很多劳动力材料和。但是，选用熔模精铸替代机加工，立即筑成精密铸造配件或的组合总体件，可得到巨大经济效果。其合理性主要体现在以下几方面。
①铸造精密铸造件加工精度高：因为熔模精铸的先进工艺提升了铸件加工精度，因此能够减少机械加工制造花费；能够减少零件安装花费；能减轻铸件净重；能改善铸件外观设计；有益于将设计产品得紧密。
②金属材料利用率高：由表1-5中所列几类新产品的统计分析，由此可见熔模精铸件金属材料利用率可以达到83.4%，是一般锻造件的2.78倍。
